Blue Beard, Blue Crowned Conure

Blue Beard was adopted roughly 9-10 yrs. ago. He is a wild caught bird; meaning, that he was plucked out of the nest, before he should have been. Because of that, he caught an infection in his sinus cavity. Poor Baby! This has left him with a special need. His beak is deformed. And he also has fatty liver syndrome.

With the fatty liver his beak grows excessively. Plus the deformity his beak is pretty interesting. The person that had him before me, loved him dearly. But with work and a very busy schedule he was adopted out.  Blue Beard doesn’t like to be handled too much. Loves to play on his cage . Loves going into the shower and loves water period! He’s a CONURE! I am very lucky he’s not a loud conure like most. We hear his “calls” in the morning and at night. Mostly his vocabulary is “What!”, “What?” and “HI There”. Right now he is in love with a peach face lovebird. He protects Sweetie Pie when he is out and gibber jabbers to her all the time. He loves his “people food”.  His favorite is pasta! Blue Beard will continue to live with us as long as wants. He’s a sweet little bird, happy all the time.
